MOJO346

I had so much fun with this card. I needed a  manly birthday card. I am working with limited supplies since I could not travel with my entire craft corner. I have been wanting to used this stamp set from TE and it was in the box of stamps that I brought along. I embossed the background with little stars and carried out the theme with the wrap on the mug. I made up the sentiment and printed it out on the computer. I used MFT blueprints and stitched rectangles for the accents.

Musing

I just looked at the date of the last post and can't believe that it has been so long. So much has been happening. My Aunt Edith, one of my favorite people in the world, passed away one week short of her 95th birthday. She was the one who taught me" fisherman" knitting with all of the cables and intricate patterns. She was one of those people who was not afraid to try something new. I think she was past 70 when she took a class at the community college and began quilting. She went to Egypt and rode a camel in her 70's. She lived outside of Washington, DC and loved when folks came to visit. She would always have a list of things to do and see. We used to laugh and say that we needed a week to recover from a vacation with her. There is definitely a void but so many wonderful memories.

We left Florida early this year to attend the Ohio Dance Convention in Cincinnati. We chaired the last 2, one in 2005 and the last one in 2009. It was nice to be a dancer instead of a worker! Square Dancing has been declining for the past 10 years, but hopefully will rebound as it has done in the past.

We have decided to make Florida our permanent home so the only other home we have ever owned must be readied for sale. I'm sure many of you have gone through this process but it is new for us and parting with our "things" is never easy. The cleaning out is proving to be quite a task. Ron & Tim are helping but I think it is as difficult for them as for us. Holly will be here next week and we are looking forward to seeing her.

Well, enough of the musing, I'd better get my card up.
